The Heritage Flight Museum is an exciting aviation museum where you can explore amazing airplanes! It's located at Skagit Regional Airport near Burlington, Washington. This museum is a fantastic place to learn about the history of flight and see real aircraft up close.
The Museum's Story
The Heritage Flight Museum was started in 1996 by the family of William Anders. He was a very famous astronaut who flew on the Apollo 8 mission. That mission was the first time humans orbited the Moon!
The museum first opened its doors at Bellingham International Airport. Later, in 2013, it moved to its current home at Skagit Regional Airport. This new location gives the museum more space for its growing collection of planes.
In 2018, the museum announced plans to make itself even bigger. Construction began on March 22, 2021, to add more space for exhibits and aircraft.
