In 2000, about 3,046 people lived in Hickory Hill. By the 2010 census, its population was included with the data for the city of Gautier. Hickory Hill is also part of the larger Pascagoula metropolitan area.

Hickory Hills is in the northern part of Gautier, Mississippi. You can find it at these coordinates: 30°27′18″N 88°38′26″W / 30.45500°N 88.64056°W / 30.45500; -88.64056. It is located north of Interstate 10, and you can get there from Exit 61.

Hickory Hills is about 8 miles (13 km) north of downtown Gautier. It is also about 12 miles (19 km) northwest of Pascagoula. Pascagoula is the main city, or county seat, of Jackson County. Additionally, Hickory Hills is about 19 miles (31 km) northeast of Biloxi.
