Hijona (pronounced Hee-HO-nah) in Spanish, or Ixona (pronounced Ee-SHO-nah) in Basque, is a small village or 'council' in Spain. It is part of the Elburgo/Burgelu area, located in the Álava province within the Basque Country. As of 2020, only 46 people live there, making it a very tiny community!
Geography
Hijona is located about 16 kilometers (or 10 miles) southeast of Vitoria-Gasteiz. Vitoria-Gasteiz is the capital city of the Álava province.
