Hiroshi Ninomiya's Football Journey

Playing as a Footballer

Hiroshi Ninomiya was born in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. After finishing his studies at the University of Tsukuba, he joined a professional football team called Urawa Reds in 1992.

In the same year, he had a special experience. He went to a club in Uruguay called Danubio for a short time. This is called a loan, which means a player temporarily moves to another team to play, usually to gain more experience or playing time.

When he returned to Urawa Reds in 1993, he played in many matches as a forward, trying to score goals for his team. However, in 1994, he didn't get to play in any games. Because of this, he decided to move to a different club.

He joined a team called Prima Ham Tsuchiura, which later became known as Mito HollyHock. This team was in the Japanese Regional Leagues, which are lower divisions of football in Japan. In 1997, his team, Mito HollyHock, was promoted to the Japan Football League, which meant they moved up to a higher division because they played very well. Hiroshi Ninomiya stopped playing professional football at the end of the 1997 season.

Becoming a Coach

After he stopped playing, Hiroshi Ninomiya started a new career as a coach. In 1998, he began coaching at his former club, Mito HollyHock. He worked as a coach under the main manager, Toshiya Miura.

In 1999, Hiroshi Ninomiya took over as the main manager of Mito HollyHock. As a manager, he was in charge of the whole team, making decisions about training, tactics, and which players would play. Under his leadership, the club finished in 3rd place in the 1999 Japan Football League. This great performance meant the club was promoted again, this time to the J2 League, which is one of the top professional football leagues in Japan.

However, Hiroshi Ninomiya didn't have the special license needed to be a manager in the J.League. So, he went back to being a coach. He continued to work with Mito HollyHock until the end of the 2000 season.
