Hiroshi Sato (born 7 March 1972) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a Goalkeeper for several teams in Japan's top league.
Playing Career
Hiroshi Sato started his professional football journey in 1992. He played as a goalkeeper, whose main job is to stop the opposing team from scoring goals. Goalkeepers are very important for a team's defense.
Early Years
Sato began his career with Yokohama Flügels. He played for this club from 1992 until 1998. During this time, he gained experience in the J. League 1, which is Japan's highest football division.
Moving to New Teams
After his time at Yokohama Flügels, Sato moved to Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 1999. He also had a loan spell at Nagoya Grampus Eight in the same year. A loan means a player temporarily plays for another team.
He returned to Sanfrecce Hiroshima for the year 2000. In 2001, he joined Nagoya Grampus Eight permanently.
Later Career
Later in 2001, Hiroshi Sato moved to Yokohama F. Marinos. He played for this team until 2004. Throughout his career, he played a total of 17 professional games. He retired from playing football after the 2004 season.
