- 1138 – Konrad III was chosen to be the King of Germany in a city called Coblenz.
- 1573 – A peace agreement was signed between the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Venice. This ended a war and meant that Cyprus became part of the Ottoman Empire.

- 1799 – Napoleon Bonaparte and his French army captured the city of Jaffa in Palestine.
