1364 – Soldiers from Pisa and Florence fought in the Battle of Cascina.
1540 – King Henry VIII of England married Catherine Howard, who became his fifth wife.
1571 – The Laguna province in the Philippines was started by the Spanish. It is one of the oldest provinces there.
1635 – During the Eighty Years' War, Spanish forces captured the important Dutch fortress of Schenkenschans.
