- April 19 – A famous ballet called The Spirit of the Rose was performed for the first time in Monte Carlo. It starred the amazing dancer Nijinsky.
- June 13 – Another new ballet by Michel Fokine, called Petrushka, had its first show in Paris. Nijinsky also danced in this one.
- December 14 – The brave explorer Roald Amundsen made history by being the first person to reach the South Pole. This was a huge achievement!
