Hiroyuki Omata (尾亦 弘友希, Omata Hiroyuki, born September 1, 1983) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender for several professional teams in Japan.

Hiroyuki Omata's Football Journey

Hiroyuki Omata was born in Suginami, Tokyo, on September 1, 1983. He started his football career by joining the J1 League club FC Tokyo in 2002. He had been part of their youth team before this.

Early Career and First Steps

On April 6, 2002, Hiroyuki Omata played his first professional game. He came into the match as a substitute defender for FC Tokyo. However, he didn't get to play much after this first game.

In 2004, he was loaned to Omiya Ardija, which was a J2 League club at the time. A loan means a player temporarily plays for another team. But even there, he didn't get to play in any matches. He returned to FC Tokyo in 2005, but still found it hard to get playing time.

Becoming a Regular Player

Things changed for Omata in 2006 when he moved to Shonan Bellmare, another J2 League team. He quickly became a regular player, which means he played almost every game. He was a key player as a left side back. In 2006, he played in 47 out of 48 matches, only missing one due to a suspension. He continued to be a regular player for Shonan Bellmare in 2007.

Later Career and Retirement

In 2008, Omata moved to Cerezo Osaka. Unfortunately, he faced several injuries during his time there. These injuries prevented him from playing in many matches.

He then moved to Avispa Fukuoka in 2012. Here, he played in many games for two seasons. Hiroyuki Omata decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2013 season. Throughout his career, he played a total of 151 league matches.
