Hiroyuki Sakashita (born May 6, 1959) is a former Japanese football player. He was a defender who played for several clubs. He also represented the Japan national team.

Club Career Highlights

Hiroyuki Sakashita started his professional football career in 1982. He joined Fujita Industries after finishing university. He was a key player for Fujita Industries for many years. He played regularly for the club.

In 1990, he moved to Yomiuri. He retired from playing football in 1991. Throughout his career, he played 161 league games and scored 5 goals.

Playing for Japan

Sakashita also played for the Japanese national team. In December 1980, he was chosen to join the team. At that time, he was still a student at University of Tsukuba.

He made his first appearance for Japan on December 28, 1980. This was during a World Cup qualification match against Macau. He played one game for his country.
