Hiroyuki Taniguchi (born on June 27, 1985) is a Japanese former professional football player. He was known for playing as a Midfielder. He played for several teams in Japan during his career. Taniguchi retired from playing football at the end of the 2019 season.

Hiroyuki Taniguchi's Football Journey

Hiroyuki Taniguchi started his football journey in youth teams. From 1998 to 2003, he played for Yokohama F. Marinos' youth squad. This helped him prepare for a professional career.

Playing for Kawasaki Frontale

Taniguchi began his professional career with Kawasaki Frontale in 2004. He played there for seven seasons until 2010. During his time with Kawasaki Frontale, he played in 190 league matches. He also scored 40 goals, which is a great achievement for a midfielder. The team also finished second in the J1 League multiple times.

Moving to Other Clubs

After Kawasaki Frontale, Taniguchi joined Yokohama F. Marinos in 2011. He played there for two seasons. In 2013, he moved to Kashiwa Reysol. With Kashiwa Reysol, he helped the team win the J.League Cup in 2013. This was a big win for him and the club.

His last club was Sagan Tosu, where he played from 2014 to 2019. He played 105 matches for them. He retired from football at the end of the 2019 season. Overall, he played in 361 league matches and scored 53 goals in his professional career.

Playing for Japan's National Team

Hiroyuki Taniguchi also had the chance to represent his country. In August 2008, he was chosen to play for the Japan national under-23 football team. This team competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.
