Hisao Kuramata (倉又 寿雄, Kuramata Hisao, born December 1, 1958) is a Japanese football player who used to play as a defender. After his playing days, he became a football manager.

His Playing Days

Hisao Kuramata was born in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, on December 1, 1958. He loved football from a young age. After finishing his studies at Nippon Sport Science University, he joined a team called Nippon Kokan in 1981. This team later became known simply as NKK.

He played for NKK for many years, showing his skills as a defender. He was a dedicated player for the club until 1992. During his time with NKK, the team achieved some great results. They were runners-up in the Japan Soccer League three times in a row, from 1985 to 1988. They also won the JSL Cup in 1987 and the Emperor's Cup in 1981. These were big achievements for the team and for Kuramata.

Becoming a Coach

After he stopped playing football professionally in 1992, Hisao Kuramata decided to stay involved in the sport. He started his coaching career in 1993, becoming an assistant coach for his old team, NKK. However, the club was disbanded at the end of that season.

Kuramata then moved to another team called Tokyo Gas. This club later changed its name to FC Tokyo, which is a well-known team today. He worked there for a long time, coaching both the main senior team as an assistant and the younger youth teams as a manager. He helped many young players develop their skills.

In 2006, he got a chance to manage the main FC Tokyo team for a short period. He stepped in after the previous manager, Alexandre Gallo, left. He continued to coach different teams within the FC Tokyo club until 2012, helping shape the future of Japanese football.

Managerial Record

When Hisao Kuramata was the manager for FC Tokyo in 2006, he led the team in 17 matches. Out of these, his team won 7 games, had 1 draw, and lost 9 games.
