Hisao Sekiguchi (born October 29, 1954) is a famous former Japanese football player. He was known for playing as a forward. He played for the Japan national team during his career.

Hisao Sekiguchi was born in Saitama, Japan, on October 29, 1954. He became a professional football player and spent his entire club career with one team.

Playing for Clubs

After finishing high school, Sekiguchi joined his local club, Mitsubishi Motors, in 1973. This was a great start to his career! In his first year, the club won two big titles: the Japan Soccer League and the Emperor's Cup.

The year 1978 was even more amazing for Sekiguchi and his team. They won all three major football titles in Japan! These were the Japan Soccer League, the JSL Cup, and the Emperor's Cup.

In the 1980s, the team continued to be very successful. They won the 1980 Emperor's Cup, the 1981 JSL Cup, and the 1982 Japan Soccer League. Sekiguchi played for Mitsubishi Motors until he retired in 1988. During his time with the club, he played in 153 league games and scored 36 goals.

Playing for Japan

Hisao Sekiguchi also had the honor of playing for the Japan national team. His first game for Japan was on May 23, 1978, against Thailand. He played a few more games for his country that year. In total, he played 3 games for Japan and scored 1 goal.
