Hitoshi Nakata (中田 仁司, Nakata Hitoshi, born January 17, 1962) is a well-known Japanese football player and manager. He played as a midfielder during his career. After he stopped playing, he became a coach and manager for several football teams in Japan.

Hitoshi Nakata was born in Osaka, Japan, on January 17, 1962. He loved football from a young age. After finishing his studies at Tokai University, he became a professional football player.
He played for a team called Fujita Industries from 1984 to 1991. After that, he joined Otsuka Pharmaceutical and played there from 1991 to 1993.
Hitoshi Nakata: A Football Coach and Manager
After his playing career ended, Nakata started working as a coach. He began his coaching journey at Otsuka Pharmaceutical, which later became known as Tokushima Vortis.
Early Coaching Roles
- He coached at Otsuka Pharmaceutical from 1993 to 1995.
- Then, he moved to Yokohama F. Marinos, coaching there from 1996 to 1999.
- From 2000 to 2003, he worked with Cerezo Osaka.
- He also coached at Nagoya Grampus Eight from 2004 to 2007.
Becoming a Manager
In 2005, Hitoshi Nakata took on the role of manager for Nagoya Grampus Eight. He managed the team for a few months that year.
Later, in 2008, he returned to Tokushima Vortis as a Technical Advisor. He stayed in this role until October 2014.
In 2015, he joined Yokohama FC as their Technical Director. That same year, the team's manager, Miloš Rus, had to leave due to health reasons. Nakata stepped in as the manager and led the team for 11 matches until the end of the season.
He became the manager of Yokohama FC again in June 2016. This happened when the previous manager, Miloš Rus, resigned due to a heart condition. Nakata continued to manage the team until October 2017. He was then replaced due to the team's performance.
