Hogan is a small, quiet place located in Iron County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
History of Hogan
Hogan has an interesting past. It got its start a long time ago, in 1880. That's when a post office was opened there.
A post office is where people send and receive mail. Having one was very important for communities back then! The Hogan post office served the area for many years. It finally closed in 1943.
The community was named after a man named Joe Hogan. He owned an important iron mine nearby. This mine was a big part of the area's history and economy.
