Hollie Cook is an English singer and keyboard player. She was born in West London, England, in 1987. Hollie was a member of the band the Slits, which played punk and reggae music. Since 2010, she has also been a solo artist. She works with a producer named Prince Fatty. In 2011, Hollie released her first reggae album, called Hollie Cook. She describes her music as "tropical pop." She loves reggae music and old-school female singers like Janet Kay and Phyllis Dillon. She also enjoys the sound of classic 1960s girl groups.

About Hollie Cook
Hollie Cook comes from a musical family. Her father is Paul Cook, who was the drummer for the famous band Sex Pistols. Her mother, Jeni, used to sing backup for the band Culture Club. The singer Boy George is also Hollie's godfather. Hollie's family background includes both English and West Indian roots.
Early Music Career
Hollie Cook joined the band The Slits when they reunited. She played on their 2006 music collection called Revenge of the Killer Slits. After that, she worked with other artists like Ian Brown and Jamie T.
Solo Albums and Success
In 2011, Hollie recorded her first solo album, Hollie Cook. She worked with producer Mike "Prince Fatty" Pelanconi. The album also featured George Dekker from the Pioneers and Dennis Bovell. The BBC praised her album, calling it "one of the most enjoyable reggae albums of 2011." She later performed on the TV show Later... with Jools Holland.
In 2012, Hollie Cook was chosen to open for the Stone Roses during their reunion concerts. A dub version of her first album was released in May 2012. She also sang a cover of "You Know I'm No Good" for a special album honoring Amy Winehouse.
Her second album, Twice, came out in May 2014. Fans helped fund this album through a special project. Her third album, Vessel of Love, was released in January 2018. This album featured collaborations with musicians like Alex Paterson and Jah Wobble.
Hollie Cook continues to create music. She still calls her unique sound "tropical pop."
