History of Hollywood, Minnesota
Hollywood was officially planned and marked out on a map in 1856. This process is called "platting." It means the land was divided into lots for building homes and businesses.
A post office was opened in Hollywood in 1859. This was important for people to send and receive letters and packages. However, it closed just one year later in 1860. The post office reopened in 1872, serving the community for several more years. It then closed permanently in 1888.
