Holton is a small town located in Otter Creek Township, Ripley County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. As of the 2020 census, about 417 people lived there.

Holton's History
Holton was officially started in 1854. This happened when the Ohio and Mississippi Railway line reached this area. The town was named after Jesse Holman, who owned the land where the town was built. A post office has been open in Holton since 1854, helping people send and receive mail.
2012 Tornado Impact
On March 2, 2012, a strong tornado, known as an EF3 tornado, caused significant damage to the town of Holton. Sadly, three people lost their lives during this event. The community worked hard to recover after the storm.
