The story of Holy Cross Church began a long time ago. The first chapel, called Holy Cross Chapel, was dedicated on December 26, 1873. For a few years, it was a "mission" church. This means it was served by priests from another nearby parish, Holy Angels Parish in Darboy, Wisconsin.
The church building you see today was completed in 1916. It has a special design that mixes two old styles of architecture: Neogothic and Romanesque. These styles often feature tall spires, pointed arches, and strong, rounded arches.
