Home Alone 3 is an American comedy movie released in 1997. It is the third film in the popular Home Alone series, but it tells a brand new story with different characters. Unlike the first two movies, this one does not feature Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister. Instead, the main character is a clever young boy named Alex Pruitt, played by Alex D. Linz. The movie was directed by Raja Gosnell, who had worked as an editor on the earlier Home Alone films.

This fun movie is about Alex, who has to stay home from school because he has the chickenpox. While he is recovering, he discovers that his neighborhood is being targeted by a group of dangerous criminals. Alex must use his wits and create lots of traps to protect his home from these sneaky villains.

Story of Home Alone 3

The movie begins with a group of international criminals trying to steal a super-secret computer chip. They hide the chip inside a toy car to get it past airport security. But by mistake, the toy car ends up in the luggage of Mrs. Hess, an elderly woman who is returning home.

When Mrs. Hess gets home, she gives the toy car to Alex Pruitt, her young neighbor, as a gift for helping her. Alex doesn't know about the secret chip inside. The criminals soon realize their mistake and start searching for the toy car. They track it down to Alex's house.

Alex's Big Adventure

Alex is home alone because he is sick with chickenpox. He notices strange things happening around his house and realizes that four dangerous burglars are trying to break in. These criminals are named Beaupre, Alice, Burton Jernigan, and Earl Unger. They are very determined to get the computer chip back.

Alex quickly understands that he is the only one who can stop them. He uses his imagination and builds many clever and funny traps all around his house. These traps are designed to surprise, confuse, and stop the burglars from getting inside.

Defending the Home

The burglars try many times to sneak into Alex's house, but they always fall victim to his hilarious traps. Alex uses everything from slippery floors to falling objects and even a pet parrot to outsmart them. The movie is full of funny moments as the criminals get caught in Alex's traps.

Eventually, the police and the FBI get involved. Alex helps them catch the criminals and recover the valuable computer chip. The movie shows how a brave and smart kid can protect his home and even help solve a big crime.

Movie Production and Release

Home Alone 3 was released on December 12, 1997. It was produced by John Hughes, who also wrote the script for the movie. Hughes was the creator of the entire Home Alone series. The movie was distributed by 20th Century Fox.

The film had a budget of about $32 million and earned over $79 million worldwide. Even though it featured a new cast and story, it continued the tradition of funny and exciting home defense adventures.

Sequels in the Series

After Home Alone 3, two more movies were made for television.

These movies also continued the theme of kids defending their homes, but Home Alone 3 was the last film in the series to be released in movie theaters.
