Hooks is a small, unincorporated community located in Russell County, Alabama, in the United States. An unincorporated community means it's a place with a shared identity but without its own local government.
History of Hooks
The community of Hooks got its name from a man named John J. Hooks. He was the very first postmaster in the area. A post office was opened in Hooks in 1893. It helped people send and receive mail for many years. However, the post office eventually closed down in 1915.
