Hou Minghao (born August 3, 1997, in Beijing, China), also known as Neo Hou, is a talented Chinese actor and singer. He is famous for his roles in many popular movies and TV shows. Some of his well-known works include the film The Devotion of Suspect X and TV dramas like When We Were Young, The Lost Tomb 2: Explore with the Note, A Girl Like Me, and Fangs of Fortune.

Career Journey

Early Steps

In 2012, Hou Minghao joined SM Entertainment as a trainee. He trained there for about a year and a half before returning to China.

Starting Out (2014–2017)

In July 2014, Hou Minghao joined a talent competition called "Boss Shang's Trainee." He became a trainee at Shang Wenjie's Studio, which later became BG Talent. On December 12, 2014, he officially debuted with the group Fresh Teenager Geek. They released their first album, "UP 4 U."

In November 2015, he acted in the comedy film Frightened Bird, playing a character named Su Niu.

In January 2016, Hou Minghao decided to become an independent actor. He joined the TV show "Day Day Up" on Hunan TV, which helped him gain popularity. In July, he released his first song, "Super Nanny Dad." He also started filming several TV shows and movies. These included the web drama Rakshasa Street, the movie Funny Soccer, and the main role in Cambrian Period. He also appeared in the romantic comedy web movie Angel Institute.

In 2017, Hou Minghao continued to take on lead roles. He starred in the suspense movie The Devotion of Suspect X as a smart young genius. In May 2023, Hou Minghao joined the drama I Am Nobody. On May 9, Back from the Brink was broadcast and became very popular, topping many charts. He also started filming Dashing Youth. In July, his movie Hidden Strike was released on Netflix. In August, the urban fantasy drama I Am Nobody aired, where he played a Taoist priest. This drama received great reviews and reached 781 million views. In October, he began filming Fangs of Fortune as the main lead. He also made a special appearance in the TV series Love in Pavilion.

In February 2024, he filmed I Am Nobody: The Showdown Between Yin & Yang. He was also announced as the main lead in Xiao Yao, playing a powerful demon king. In April, Young Babylon was broadcast, telling a story about young people in the 1990s. This series got 503 million views. In July, Dashing Youth aired, reaching 1.62 billion views. Personal Life

Hou Minghao grew up in a military college environment. He studied at Beijing Contemporary Music Academy during middle school. He enjoys reading, baking, and sports, especially basketball. He even opened his own basketball court called FAD3-AWAY in Hengdian, where many famous people come to play. He has played the accordion for eight years and can also play other instruments like the drums, guitar, and piano.
