Howard Wallace Pollock (born April 11, 1920 – died January 9, 2011) was an American politician. He was a Republican who represented Alaska in the U.S. Congress.

Howard Pollock's Life Story
Early Life and Military Service
Howard Pollock was born in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in New Orleans. He went to high school in Perkinston, Mississippi and then attended Perkinston Junior College.
In 1941, he joined the United States Navy as a seaman. He served during World War II. Sadly, in 1944, he lost his right forearm in an accident during training in the South Pacific. He retired from the Navy in 1946 with the rank of lieutenant commander.
Education and Early Career
After his military service, Pollock studied law at Santa Clara University School of Law and the University of Houston. He then continued his studies at MIT. There, he earned a Master of Science degree in industrial management. He worked as a lawyer for many years.
Political Journey in Alaska
Howard Pollock began his political career in Alaska. From 1953 to 1955, he served in the Alaska Territorial Legislature. This was before Alaska became a U.S. state.
Later, he was a member of the Alaska Senate from 1961 to 1963 and again from 1965 to 1966. In 1967, he was elected as a Republican to the United States Congress. He served two terms, from January 3, 1967, to January 3, 1971.
In 1970, he decided not to run for Congress again. Instead, he tried to become the Republican candidate for Governor of Alaska, but he was not successful. Howard Pollock also served as a past president of the National Rifle Association.
From 1998 until his death in January 2011, Pollock lived in Arlington, Virginia.
