Hugo Arana (born July 23, 1943 – died October 11, 2020) was a famous actor from Argentina. He was well-known for his work in movies, on television, and in theatre plays.

Life and Career
Hugo Arana was born on July 23, 1943. He grew up in a place called Monte Grande, where his parents were farmers. Later, his family moved to Lomas de Zamora and then to Lanús. He learned how to act by studying with talented teachers like Marcello Lavalle and Augusto Fernandes.
Early Acting Days
When he first started acting, Hugo was part of a theatre group called "Errare Humanum Est." He also appeared in early movies such as El Santo de la Espada (1970) and La tregua (1974).
Becoming Popular
In the 1980s, Hugo Arana became very popular. First, he was famous for being in an advertisement for Crespi wine. After that, he starred in a TV comedy show called Matrimonios y algo más. In this show, he played two characters that audiences really loved. One of them was called the "Groncho" from a funny sketch.
He also worked on the Telefé TV series Los exitosos Pells. In this show, he played Franco Andrada, who was the director of a made-up news channel called "Mega News."
Later Life and Death
Sadly, Hugo Arana had a bad fall and had to go to the hospital. While there, he tested positive for COVID-19. He passed away from the illness on October 11, 2020, when he was 77 years old.
