Huron is a small place in Polk County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
History of Huron
Huron got its start a long time ago. In 1897, a post office opened there. A post office is where people send and receive mail. This post office helped the people living in Huron for about 21 years, closing in 1918. The name Huron comes from another place called Huron, Tennessee. Many of the first people who settled in Huron, Missouri, had moved from Huron, Tennessee.
