History of Hydes
Hydes is named after a person called Samuel N. Hyde. He was an agronomist, which is a scientist who studies how to grow crops better. Samuel Hyde became famous for developing a special type of sweet corn. This corn was known as "Egyptian" sweet corn. A company called F.B. Jenkins canned this corn right there in Hydes.
