IG-88 facts for kids
IG-88 is a cool droid who works as a bounty hunter and a skilled assassin. He's a robot designed to find and capture people! IG-88 first showed up in the Star Wars universe way back in the 1980s. His first big appearance was in the movie Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Since then, he's also been in the animated series Star Wars Forces of Destiny and even some comics.
Who is IG-88?
IG-88 is a very unique droid. He's known for his tall, thin body and his unusual head. Did you know his head was actually made from recycled parts? It came from props used in an earlier movie, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope! This makes him a fun detail for fans to spot.
IG-88's First Mission
One of IG-88's most famous moments was when he stood alongside other well-known bounty hunters. These included Bossk and the famous Boba Fett. They were all called together by the powerful Darth Vader. Vader gave them a very important job: to find and capture the Millennium Falcon spacecraft. This was a big task, showing how important IG-88 was considered.
Voice of IG-88
Even though he's a droid, IG-88 has a voice! In the Star Wars Forces of Destiny series, the voice of IG-88 is provided by Matthew Wood. It's interesting how different actors bring these characters to life.
