IONIS School of Technology and Management, often called IONIS STM, is a private school in France. It is part of the IONIS Education Group. The school teaches students about technology, like computers and energy, and also about how to manage businesses.
IONIS STM was started in 2009 in a city called Ivry-sur-Seine. It offers a special degree called a Master of Business Administration (MBA). This degree is recognized by the French government. Students learn both technical skills and business management. A unique thing about the school is that students can join after getting a Bachelor's, a Master's, or even a Ph.D. degree.
History of IONIS STM
The school's story began in 2002. Another big French school, EPITA, started special programs. These programs were called Mastères EPITA.
After seven years, these special programs grew. They became their own separate school, which is now IONIS STM. This allowed the school to teach about new areas of technology and business.
What Students Learn
The main course at IONIS STM usually lasts two years. This is for students who already have a Bachelor's degree. The school also accepts students who have studied for two years after high school.
If a student has only two years of education after high school, they need to take a "preparatory year." This extra year teaches general management and computer science. It covers topics from the four main areas of study. The preparatory year ends with a three-month work experience, called an internship.
Areas of Study
After getting a Bachelor's degree, students choose to focus on one of four main areas:
- Information Technology (IT)
- Computer Science
- Energy
- Biotechnology
Students attend classes from October to June. After their classes, they complete a six-month internship. This gives them real-world experience in their chosen field.
