The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are smartphones made by Apple Inc.. These phones were announced on September 12, 2018. The event took place at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California.

The iPhone XS has a 5.8-inch screen. The iPhone XS Max has a larger 6.5-inch screen. This was the biggest screen ever on an iPhone at the time. The iPhone XS started at US $999. The larger iPhone XS Max started at US $1,099.
Key Features
Both the iPhone XS and XS Max have a special "notch" at the top of the screen. This notch holds the front camera and other sensors. Like the iPhone X, these phones do not have a home button. Instead, you use gestures to navigate.
The iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR were the first iPhones to not include a special adapter. This adapter lets you plug in headphones with a 3.5 mm jack. If you wanted to use these types of headphones, you had to buy the adapter separately.
