I Spy is a fun American TV show that uses stop-motion and claymation to bring its characters to life! It was shown on HBO Family in the United States from December 2002 to September 2003. The show is based on the super popular children's book series created by Jean Marzollo and Walter Wick. There were two seasons and a total of 52 episodes.

How an Episode Works

Each episode of I Spy begins with the main characters, Spyler and CeCe, looking for something exciting to do. Once they decide on an activity, they realize they need certain items to complete it.

Their friend, Duck, then appears and gives them a riddle. This riddle describes three or four items they need to find. Spyler and CeCe then start their search!

As they find each item, they sing their happy "Whoop! We Found It!" song. Duck then gives them another riddle for the next item. Sometimes, they call their big red dump truck, Wheeler, to help carry large items home.

After all the items are found, Spyler and CeCe use them for their planned activity. They always find a clever use for every item they collect. Each episode also has a "super challenge." This is announced at the start and asks viewers to find a certain number of a specific object hidden throughout the episode.

Meet the Characters

Spyler

Spyler is one of the main characters in I Spy. He is a plasticine clay model, similar to the characters from Wallace and Gromit. Spyler has a tennis ball for a head, red pipe cleaner hair, and green gloves for hands. He also has a pink eraser and buttons for feet.

In every episode, Spyler and CeCe work together to find items described in Duck's riddles. These items are always used for a special purpose. For example, they might help CeCe get rid of hiccups or build a robot. When they find an item, Spyler and CeCe sing their "Whoop! We Found It!" song. They often call Wheeler, their dump truck, to help carry big items home.
