He also wrote Rusalka Lyrical Fairy-Tale Opera First Performed in Prague 1901 in 2005.

The Storymakers Guides

Before writing his own stories, Ian helped other people in the children's book world. He put together a two-volume guide called The Storymakers.

Awards and Recognition

In 2006, Ian Krykorka won an award for his book Carl the Christmas Carp. He received the Municipal Chapter of Toronto IODE award.

The Edmonton Journal newspaper described Carl the Christmas Carp as a story that is "Boldly illustrated and matter-of-factly told." They also said it "cuts through all the treacle that tends to infect the holiday season."
