Ibrox subway station is a busy stop on the Glasgow Subway line. It serves the Ibrox area of Glasgow, Scotland. This station was originally called Copland Road until 1977.
The station's main entrance is still on Copland Road. Its buildings were updated during a big project to modernise the Subway. Today, trains arrive at two side platforms, making it easy to get on and off.
What's Near Ibrox Station?
Ibrox station is famous for being very close to Ibrox Stadium. This is the home ground of Rangers F.C., a well-known football team. On match days, the station gets incredibly busy! An extra entrance on Woodville Street opens up to help handle all the fans.
At other times, the station is usually quiet. About 540,000 people use it each year.
You can also find the Glasgow Science Centre nearby. However, SPT, who run the Subway, suggest that Cessnock station is a better stop for the Science Centre. It's a bit closer to the entrance.
