Ichiro Hosotani (細谷 一郎, Hosotani Ichirō, born January 21, 1946) is a famous former Japanese football player. He was known for playing as a forward, which means he was one of the main players who tried to score goals for his team. He played for the Japan national team and had a very successful career with the Mitsubishi Motors club.

A Football Star's Journey

Ichiro Hosotani was born in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, on January 21, 1946. From a young age, he showed great talent in football. He played for his high school team at Kobe High School from 1962 to 1964. After that, he continued to play football while studying at Waseda University from 1965 to 1968.

Playing for Mitsubishi Motors

In 1969, after finishing university, Hosotani joined the Mitsubishi Motors football club. This was a big step in his career, and he quickly became a key player.
