Ida Georgina Moberg (born February 13, 1859 – died August 2, 1947) was a talented Finnish composer and conductor. She was born in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. From a young age, Ida loved music. She started taking piano and singing lessons when she was a child.

Ida Moberg spent many years studying music. She wanted to learn everything she could about composing and leading orchestras.
Early Studies
From 1883 to 1884, she studied music theory and composition. She attended the famous Saint Petersburg Conservatory. Later, she learned about counterpoint from Richard Faltin. Counterpoint is a way of writing music with different melodies playing at the same time.
Learning from Masters
Ida also studied composition at the Helsinki Philharmonic Society's Orchestra School. There, one of her teachers was the very famous composer Jean Sibelius. He is known for his beautiful symphonies.
Advanced Training
From 1901 to 1905, Ida continued her studies in Germany. She learned composition from Felix Draeseke at the Dresden Conservatory. She also explored the Dalcroze method in Berlin. This method helps musicians understand rhythm and music through movement.
