About Idris Sardi
Idris Sardi was born in Batavia, which was then called the Dutch East Indies, on June 7, 1938. His father, Mas Sardi, was also a famous musician and composer. His mother, Hadidjah, was an actress.
Early Life and Amazing Talent
Idris started playing the violin when he was just six years old. He learned very quickly! When he was only 10 years old, in 1949, he played for the public for the first time. This special performance happened in Yogyakarta. Everyone who heard him play was amazed by his natural talent.
A Gifted Composer and Award Winner
Idris Sardi was not only a fantastic violinist but also a very skilled composer. He wrote music for many movies. He even won several important awards called the Citra Award for his amazing sound work in films.

- Pengantin Remaja (Young Newlyweds) in 1971
- Perkawinan (Marriage) in 1973
- Cinta Pertama (First Love) in 1974
- Doea Tanda Mata (Two Mementos) in 1985
Idris composed a huge number of songs, about 1,900 in total! Four of his film scores won the prestigious Piala Citra awards for Best Film Score in the 1970s and 1980s. This shows how much his music was loved and respected.

Idris Sardi had children. His daughter is Santi Sardi, and his son is the actor Lukman Sardi. They were from his marriage to Zerlita. Later, he married Indonesian actress Marini, but they divorced. After that, he married Ratih Putri.
His Legacy
Idris Sardi passed away on April 28, 2014, at Meilia Hospital in Cibubur, Indonesia. He was 75 years old. He left behind a wonderful legacy of music and performances that continue to inspire many.
