Ilkka Olavi Suominen (8 April 1939 – 23 May 2022) was a Finnish politician. He was a member of the National Coalition Party. He was President of the Nordic Council in 1992. In 1987, he was the Speaker of the Parliament of Finland.
He was member of the parliament from 1970 to 1975 and from 1983 to 1994. He held the position of minister of trade and industry in Holkeri cabinet 1987-1991.
Suominen left parliament to become CEO of state monopoly Alko. He was elected as a member of the European Parliament (MEP) for one term 1999-2004 (EPP).
Suominen died on 23 May 2022 in Helsinki, Finland at the age of 83.
