This church was designed by an architect named Sture Frölén. It was finished in 1974. The church stands on a piece of land that used to be a place where trams were stored. This spot is at the corner of two streets, Birger Jarlsgatan and Kungstensgatan.

Building the Church and Its Surroundings
The entire area around the church, including office buildings and a hotel, was built between 1970 and 1974. The church itself was the main reason for this big construction project. It was built for the church community.
Modern Design and Historical Importance
The Immanuel Church is a great example of modernist architecture from the 1970s. Modernist architecture often uses simple shapes and new materials. The Stockholm City Museum considers this church to be very important historically. It shows how buildings were designed during that time period.
