Inez Jasper is a talented Canadian singer and songwriter. She was born on May 19, 1981. Her music is a cool mix of pop, dance, hip hop, and traditional First Nations music. Inez is well-known because she was nominated twice for a big award called the Juno Award for Aboriginal Album of the Year. This was for her albums Singsoulgirl in 2010 and Burn Me Down in 2014.

About Inez Jasper
Inez Jasper grew up in Chilliwack, which is in British Columbia, Canada. She has a rich background, being part of the Sto:lo, Ojibway, and Métis peoples. Her father, Mark Point, used to be a chief for the Skowkale First Nation. Her uncle, Steven Point, was also a very important leader, serving as the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia.
Besides being a musician, Inez is also a registered nurse. She works as a community health nurse for the Stó:lō Nation Health Services. She has two children. Inez is a great example of someone who balances her passion for music with helping her community.
Music Career
Inez Jasper started her music journey by releasing her first song, "Sto:lo Strong," in 2005. Then, in January 2009, she released her first full album called SingSoulGirl. She traveled a lot to share her music from this album. She won several awards for her work. At the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards, her song "Breathe" won Single of the Year. Her album SingSoulGirl was named Pop Album of the Year, and Inez herself won Best New Artist. She also won awards at the Western Canadian Music Awards.
After her first album, Inez released two more songs that weren't on an album: "Make U Mine" in 2011 and "Dancin' on the Run" in 2013. Her second album, Burn Me Down, came out in August 2013. This album also won Pop Album of the Year at the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards. It was also nominated for a Juno Award again. In 2014, Inez was recognized as Best Producer/Engineer at the APCMAs.
In 2008, Inez was chosen as a National Aboriginal Role Model by the National Aboriginal Health Organization. This shows how much she inspires others.
