Infanta Sofía of Spain (Sofía de Todos los Santos de Borbón y Ortiz) was born on April 29, 2007. She is a member of the Spanish royal family. Sofía is the younger daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia. She is second in line to the Spanish throne, right after her older sister, Leonor, Princess of Asturias.
Sofía was born in Madrid when her grandfather, King Juan Carlos I, was king. She went to the Santa María de los Rosales School, just like her sister. In 2023, she started studying for an International Baccalaureate at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales, United Kingdom.

Infanta Sofía was born on April 29, 2007, in Madrid. Her birth was announced by the royal family using text messages. This was a modern way to share the news with the public.
Sofía was named after her grandmother, Queen Sofía of Spain. She was christened on July 15 in the gardens of the Palacio de la Zarzuela. Her godparents are her maternal grandmother, Paloma Rocasolano, and Konstantin, Prince of Vidin. Like her sister, she was given one main name, plus the traditional name de Todos los Santos (of All the Saints).
She received her First Communion on May 17, 2017. This special event took place at the Asunción de Nuestra Señora parish. Her family, including her parents, sister, and grandparents, were there to support her. On May 23, 2023, she received the sacrament of confirmation.
Education and Learning

When she was three years old, Sofía attended her first official event. This was a reception at the Royal Palace of Madrid. Since her birth, Sofía has been an Infanta of Spain. She is addressed as Royal Highness. While she has the same royal status as a prince, Sofía does not hold the title of "princess." In Spain, only the person who will inherit the Crown is allowed to use that title.
