About Irene Zundel
Irene Zundel was born in Mexico City in 1958. When she was young, she was inspired by the art of M.C. Escher. Escher was famous for his mind-bending drawings and impossible structures.
From 1977 to 1981, Irene studied graphic design at the Philadelphia College of Art in the United States. After returning to Mexico, she decided to become a fine artist.
Irene started making sculptures using materials like acrylic. Over time, she began working with many other things. These include wax, pottery, iron, and a clear plastic called Plexiglass.
Irene Zundel has won an award from Italy called the Premio Italia per L'arte. Her artwork has also been displayed in famous places like the Franz Mayer Museum in Mexico.
