What is Iron Mike?
Iron Mike is a beautiful fountain with different levels, like a wedding cake. It sits on a dark green concrete base. The fountain is about four feet tall and three feet wide at its widest part. It was designed to help everyone get a drink, even animals!
A Fountain for Everyone
This unique fountain has several sections for different users:
- The lowest part is a small pool for pets. It even has "Illinois Humane Society" written on it. This shows it was made to be kind to animals.
- There is a small step on the south side. This step helps children reach the higher parts of the fountain.
- The largest middle section is for horses. It's big enough for them to drink easily.
- On the back of the horse basin, there's a "bubbler." A bubbler is like a small drinking spout. This part was made for adults to use. Kids can also reach it by using the iron step.
