Isaac Promise was a talented Nigerian footballer. He was born on December 2, 1987, and sadly passed away on October 2, 2019. He played football professionally for 14 years, mostly in Turkey. Isaac was the captain of Nigeria's football team that won a silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Throughout his club career, he scored 77 goals.

Isaac Promise's Football Journey
Playing for Clubs
Isaac Promise started his football journey as a young player. He tried out for Grays International, a team in Nigeria's second division. He also got the chance to try out for big European clubs like Manchester United. However, these trials were not successful.
In August 2005, Isaac signed a three-year deal with Süper Lig club Gençlerbirliği in Turkey. During the 2006-2007 season, he scored 12 goals for the team.
On July 15, 2008, Isaac joined Trabzonspor on a four-year contract. He played 26 matches for them and scored two goals. Later, he was loaned to Manisaspor for a year, where he scored six goals in 27 matches. In 2010, Manisaspor signed him permanently. He scored 11 goals in 30 matches for them.
After leaving Manisaspor, he signed a three-year contract with Antalyaspor. In February 2015, he joined Balıkesirspor for six months. In August 2018, it was announced that Isaac would play for Austin Bold, a new team in the United Soccer League, for the 2019 season.
Playing for Nigeria
Isaac Promise was chosen to be the captain of Nigeria's under-23 football team for the 2008 Summer Olympics in China. On August 13, 2008, he scored Nigeria's first goal against the United States in a group stage match. Nigeria won that game 2–1.
Nigeria's team went on to win the silver medal at the Olympics. They lost 1–0 to Argentina in the final match.
Isaac also played for the senior national team starting in 2009. He played in 3 matches and scored one goal for his country.
His Passing
Isaac Promise passed away on October 2, 2019, at the age of 31. He died from a heart attack.
