Sir Isaac Wilson (1757–1844) was an important British doctor. He worked for the Duke and Duchess of Kent, who were members of the royal family. He also led a very big hospital for the navy called Haslar Naval Hospital.

Sir Isaac Wilson: A Life in Medicine
Early Career and Royal Connections
In 1816, Sir Isaac Wilson became a member of the Medico Chirurgical Society. This was a group for doctors and surgeons. He was also known as the "Domestic Physician" to the Duchess of Kent. This meant he was her personal doctor. At the same time, he was a senior doctor at the Naval Hospital in Plymouth.

Sir Isaac Wilson was recognized for his medical work. In 1831, he was chosen as a Fellow of the Royal Society of London. This is a very old and respected group for scientists. Being a Fellow means you are one of the best in your field. A few years later, in 1834, he also became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. This is a similar important group in Scotland.
In 1840, Sir Isaac Wilson retired from his job. He had been the head doctor at Haslar Naval Hospital in Portsmouth. This was a very important position for naval surgeons. Other famous doctors, like Sir William Beatty, who was personal doctor to Admiral Nelson, also held this job.
Later Life and Legacy
Sir Isaac Wilson lived in Fareham in Hampshire. He passed away in Bognor on December 2, 1844. His important papers and will are kept safe in the National Archive in Kew.
