He used to be a member of the California State Senate. There he represented the 35th district, which includes parts of the South Bay area. Before that, he was an Assemblymember for the 64th district. He also served as a city councilman in Compton.

Currently, Isadore Hall III works for the California Agricultural Labor Relations Board (ALRB). He was chosen for this role by Governor Jerry Brown in 2017.
