Isaiah Jerome Green, born on August 10, 1989, is a former American professional football player. He played as a cornerback, which is a defensive position in football. After playing college football at Fresno State University, he joined the Buffalo Bills in 2012.

High School Highlights

Isaiah went to Long Beach Polytechnic High School in California. He was not just good at football; he was also an amazing track and field athlete! In 2005, he competed in the World Youth Championships in Africa. He helped his team win a gold medal in the 4x100-meter relay race. He was also part of a 4x200 relay team that set a national high school record.

College Football Journey

Green played college football for Fresno State. In 2007, he took a "redshirt" year, which means he practiced with the team but didn't play in games. This allowed him to gain experience without using up a year of his playing eligibility.

Playing for Fresno State

He started playing in 2008, making two tackles that season. His first time starting a game was in the 2009 New Mexico Bowl. In 2010, he started five games, and in 2011, he started ten games. By the end of his college career, Green had played in 46 games. He started 16 of those games and made 94 tackles. He also forced one fumble and made one interception.

Professional Football Career

After college, Isaiah Green hoped to be picked in the 2012 NFL draft. When he wasn't drafted, he signed with the Buffalo Bills as a free agent. This means he could join any team that offered him a contract.

Playing in the NFL

After being released by the Bills, the Indianapolis Colts signed Green to their practice squad on October 9, 2012. A practice squad is a group of players who train with the team but are not on the main roster. The Colts released him on December 4, 2012. Soon after, on December 12, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed him to their practice squad. He stayed with the Steelers until August 30, 2014, when he was released.

Playing in the CFL

On October 14, 2014, Green signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He joined their practice roster. He played in one game for the Argonauts, where he made one defensive tackle and two special teams tackles. The Argonauts released him on June 5, 2015.
