Ishak Pamumbu Lambe (born 6 February 1946 – died 1 January 2021) was an Indonesian Christian pastor and a leader in his community. He was from the Toraja area. He also served as a Senator for Indonesia in a group called the Regional Representative Council from 2004 to 2009. Before that, he was the main leader of the Toraja Church, a large Christian church group in South Sulawesi, from 1992 to 2001.

Who Was Ishak Pamumbu Lambe?
Ishak Pamumbu Lambe was born on 6 February 1946, in a place called Tana Toraja Regency in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. He grew up there and went to school.
Early Life and Education
He finished Rantepao Christian Junior High School in Tana Toraja in 1962. Then, he went to Rantepao Christian SPG until 1965. Mr. Lambe wanted to become a pastor, so he studied at a special school called Theologia College (STT) in Jakarta. He graduated in 1971. Later, he continued his studies there and earned a master's degree between 1976 and 1978. He even went to Germany to get his doctorate degree from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz.
A Life of Service: Church and Community
After finishing his studies, Ishak Pamumbu Lambe dedicated his life to serving others. He worked as a teacher at STT Rantepao from 1973 to 1983. He then became a pastor at the Labuang Baji Church in Makassar from 1983 to 1988. After that, he taught as a professor at STT Intim Makassar.
Leading the Toraja Church
Mr. Lambe was a very important leader in the church. From 1989 to 1994, he led the Communion of Churches in Indonesia in South and Southeast Sulawesi. In 1992, he was chosen to be the Chairman of the Toraja Church Synod Workers Agency (BPS). This was a big leadership role for the Toraja Church, and he held it for many years, until 2001.
Helping Churches Across Indonesia
In 2001, he was elected as the General Secretary of the national Communion of Churches in Indonesia (PGI). This meant he helped lead many Christian churches all over Indonesia.
Serving the Nation as a Senator
Besides his church work, Ishak Pamumbu Lambe also helped his country. He was elected as a Senator in the national Regional Representative Council from 2004 to 2009. As a Senator, he helped make important decisions for the people of Indonesia.
Later Life and Legacy
In 2013, Rev. Lambe became the chairman of the board for the Lembaga Alkitab Indonesia
(LAI), which is also known as the Indonesia Bible Institute. This organization helps to provide Bibles to people. He held this important position until he passed away.Ishak Pamumbu Lambe died on 1 January 2021, at Elim Rantepao Hospital. He was 74 years old. His death was confirmed by a local government official. He was survived by his wife, Hermin Sangka' Palisungan, and their two children. He was buried in Rantetayo, Tana Toraja Regency, on the same day he passed away.
