Climbing Ishinca

This translates to "somewhat difficult." So, it's not the hardest climb, but it still requires skill and experience.

The North-West Route was first climbed by a team of mountaineers in 1964. These climbers were J. Fonrouge, W. Lindaver, H. Salger, H. Schmidbauer, and V. Staudacher. They were the first to successfully reach the summit using this specific path.

The name "Ishinca" comes from the local language, Anqash Runa Simi. In this language, "ichinqa" or "ishinqa" means "it will stand." This name fits the mountain well, as it stands tall and strong in the Andes.
