Isla San José is a beautiful island located in the Gulf of California. It sits off the east coast of the Baja California peninsula in Mexico. This island is sometimes called San José Island in English.
Isla San José is about 60 miles (97 km) north of the city of La Paz. It belongs to the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. The island is also part of the Municipality of La Paz. It covers an area of about 70.6 square miles (182.9 square kilometers). This makes it the sixth-largest island in all of Mexico!
