Isla de Yáquil (which means Island of Yáquil in Spanish) is a small village in Chile. It is sometimes called La Isla. This village is located in the Colchagua Province, which is part of the Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins Region. It is near the town of Santa Cruz.
About Isla de Yáquil
In 1899, a book called Diccionario Geográfico de la República de Chile described Isla de Yáquil. This book was written by Francisco Solano Astaburuaga y Cienfuegos. It said that the village was in the northern part of the Curicó Department. It was located among some hills that shared the same name. The description also mentioned that Isla de Yáquil was north of the villages of Santa Cruz and Quinchañihue.
