Islington Central was a special area in Inner London, within the Islington district. It was created so that people living there could choose one person to represent them in the House of Commons. This person is called a Member of Parliament, or MP for short.

This voting area, or constituency, was first used for an election in February 1974. It was then removed and no longer used after the 1983 election.
